Sharon May Not Recover

Skynews:

Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon has suffered a "significant" stroke with "massive bleeding" in his brain, a hospital official said.

The 77-year-old is undergoing surgery in Jerusalem.

A senior political source was fearing the worst.

He said: "It looks very bad. I don't know if he will recover."

It is less than three weeks since Mr Sharon suffered a mild stroke and just hours before he was to undergo a heart procedure.

Mr Sharon is overweight but doctors checking him in December said he was otherwise in good health.

Since the first stroke, the Prime Minister has been receiving blood thinning drugs to try and prevent a recurrence of the clotting that caused it.
